Why I Think Master P’s BBTV Will Fail

A few minutes ago, I decided to check out the competition. So, I checked out TV One’s website, then I scrolled over to BET’s website. But there is more competition out there. So, for those who missed the memo last month, Master P (oh, I’m sorry P. Miller) has decided to start a TV network (only a month after I announced TBT). He said that it will be a family-oriented network (Black Family Channel, TV One), and it will feature “responsible music videos” (clean BET). From the beginning, I began to criticize, then I decided to give him a chance. I looked up any and all info on Better Black Television, and I created the Wikipedia article on the network. I was being nice to the competition. Now, back to the issue. I visited his site today, and I was shocked at what I saw. Its nothing more than the Black Family Channel, except more star-studded. From the beginning I said that BBTV would be nothing more than a Miller Family/No Limit showcase. Honestly, I was hoping to be wrong, but when I saw that site I wasn’t. When you first visit the site, you will notice a new videos section. Take a wild guess at who’s video is the first one you see. Lil Romeo has a new video. I would have never guessed that. I didn’t know he still rapped. Well, apparantley, BBTV does. As you look into the “About Us” section, you see a bunch of pictures of Master P, Lil Romeo, and a few of his other children. He even takes time out to give Will Smith and Chris Paul their own solo shots. Then, a message comes up talking about a dream coming true. That sorry excuse for a network was not my dream, and I don’t really think that it is anyone else besides Master P’s dream either. Remember when this new network was just announced. Master P said that the channel would feature reruns of old sitcoms, along with original sitcoms, and dramas, and also a children’s programming block. Mr. Percy Miller promised all of this on a 24-hour schedule. Something had to be cut, so here’s what stayed Sunset & Vine (106 & Park), Gee Gee The Giant Giraffe (Dora, the Explorer), Managing Your Money (Singletary Says), and a fashion show (America’s Next Top Model). What happened to the soap opera with the multi-cultural cast. Wasn’t that show called Karma? Well, its not on the schedule. What happened to the sitcoms that BBTV were to premiere on the first night. They were never named, so as a result, they’re gone, too. He says that BBTV will be so much better than BET, but without a single day of programming aired yet, they are playing BET’s tricks. Making too many promises that they cannot fulfill. Why tell the lies, just say what you’re coming with and state your goals. P, just act as if you are poor trying to start a network, like me. I promised three sitcoms, I have began writing for my second sitcom, and my third is coming soon. So, you know, as soon as I get them done, I will begin shooting, then I upload to YouTube. I don’t make promises that I cannot keep. If I do make that mistake, I will at least let you know, what did Master P do. What really got me with his site is that he has a picture that features Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama, and then… HIM. This fool really thinks that because he stopped cursing in his rhymes, and decided to start the family version of BET that he is on the level of a Barack Obama or a Martin Luther King. This guy thinks he really did something improtant. Listen, P, let it go, this is just entertainment. I don’t think what I have done with TBT is something legendary, all I did was create a channel and gave it a target audience. The reason I started TBT was to entertain my people, because I think that I can do a better job than TV One and BET can at entertaining my people. All Master P has is Black Family Channel on steroids with 106 & Park. His channel is all style and no substance. That will get you ratings when you’re new, but you will eventually suffer. P, you said you spent time with Bob Johnson, didn’t he tell you about all of the stuff thrown at him? But, I do think that my channel is better than Better Black Television. I honestly think that I can change the game. I also think that Master P is in this for a quick $3 Billion, like his homeboy, Bob.
