“The Mo’Nique Show” on BET

Posted on June 30, 2009. Filed under: Television | Tags: |

Mo'NiqueComedienne, Mo’Nique, formerly of UPN sitcom “The Parkers,” will be getting her own late night talk show.

She will be the first black woman in television history to have her own late night show.

It will air on BET this fall. To anyone that follows Mo’Nique or BET, it is really no surprise.

BET airs reruns of her popular sitcom, “The Parkers,” every Saturday, and she has hosted the BET Awards three times.

She has become a fixture on the network without starring in any BET original programs.

That will change this fall when “The Mo’Nique Show” joins the schedule of BET.

I AM SO HAPPY MO’NIQUE IS HAVING HER OWN LATE NIGHT TV SHOW. SHE IS SO FUNNY, BUT BESIDE THAT SHE IS BEAUTIFUL, SUCCESSFUL, AND I THINK SHE IS A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR MANY PEOPLE. i KNOW THIS SHOW GOING TO BE A HIT NOT ONLY WOULD IT BE FUNNY AND HER JUST KEEPING REAL. I THINK SHE WOULD ALSO HAVE SHOWS THAT WOULD MOTIVATE PEOPLE AND BRING A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE. SHE CAN DO ALL THAT AT ONE TIME THATS HOW GOOD I THINK SHE IS.

Neat! So who produces the show? I bet it will be a very entertaining show. Looking forward to it. Thank You. Keedah Giannetti

I just saw the first show and Mo’Nique was wonderful. Congrats! keep the laughs coming. Take your bows my sista, the 1st BLACK WOMAN to have her late night show with more to follow. Thanks for showing the way.

Oh Plizz, She acted like a big baby. Basically that show was full of childishness, she didn’t have control and she yelled alot!

I totally agree. The yelling was too much. It was over the top. She needs to tone it down some and then maybe I will watch it again.

I agree – she yelled entirely too much and if she said baby one more time I thought I would scream!!! She needs to bring it down a tad bit and bring a little more class. This was just the first show, so I will give it a minute

Good morning Mo’Nique. I enjoyed the show. It is such a blessing to see a strong, beautiful, black and powerful sista doing her thang. I know it is such an exciting and overwhelming experience for you. You are a woman of soo much class, but you must stop screaming and shouting on the show. It is not like you. I know you are excited but please practice on expressing yourself in a more Mo’Nique classy like fashion. Much love to you. Keep up the good work.

god is truly the first hand in her life. i love anything with monique. she is a in a great season of blessings. mo is a wonderful actress, woman, mom, and comedian. she brings out laughter and happiness. i set my dvr to catch every show. looking foward to watching. encouraging, mo super job gir!!!

I love monique she’s a beautiful big women, and don’t mind telling anybody how she feel. I’m excited for her to have her own show on BET because she deserve it.

Congrats,
I watched you last night. I continually listened to you, Mo’Nique, talk about encouragement that should be given by everyone to others to pursue their dreams. I only hope that those like you, Mo’Nique, really do want to help to encourage others with more than just word. I would like to see your show not only promote those music and tv artist that are already known but provide some promotion of some new AA talent, like Steve Harvey did for you. I would like to send you two artist really trying to just get a brake and some encouragement to share their talents. I don’t see many of our AA artist, like Tyler Perry as an example, who are succeeding helping many new music or tv artist. Dare to do something different. Thanks for your time.

Carrie

Mo,you’re HOT!!!! I think you are the a blessing to all women. I can’t wait to see your show on BET. One more thing, Gurl, where do you shop?

I would like to congratulate Monique on the Show. Its always nice to see a new black show. However I was very disappointed with the show. If I am going to give up watching the local news and spend an hour watching a T.V. show at night, it should be targeted for a mature audience. All of the yelling and “baby” and jokes are fine if there is some real underpinning content. The interveiw with Steve Harvey was silly and not informative; the interruptions by who ever that guy is off to the side were annoying; the musical guest for both nights were for a young audiance who should be in bed that time of night; and above all I would rather see a black show where people act intelligent rather than stupid in the name of “being black.” I have no idea what age bracket she is trying to reach. I am 48 years old and I work second shift. When I come in at night and turn the T.V. on I want to hear comedy that is clever and not just silly; I want to hear information that challenges my intellect rather than ghetto clowning that insults my intelligence; and I want to hear music that appeals to the world that I live in (R&B, Jazz, etc.), not the world of my children. (hip hop, rap) This show would never make it on a network like NBC or CBS, and even though BET is targeted towards the black audience, the quality of the show should be competative. Not to slam the whole show–The words of wisdom at the end were nice and the band is tight!

I have never made a comment online about a TV show or anything. But Mo’Nique you looking GOOD! I’m watching the interview with Chris Rock right now.

I would like to know exactly what she is doing to lose weight? I noticed that chris rock asked her last night what she was doing and she ignored the questions. Remember she has alway’s said she was Big Beautiful and loving it! Why keep secrets monique???

OMG I watched the show for the first time yesterday and it wasn’t what I expected. All she did was yell and say yes! I wanted to hear what Tiny and Toya had to say but they wasn’t given the opporunity to say much.I swear I had a headache after watching her show. Please keep it classy and tone down the yelling!!

urgent news! there is a homelessman who story is being told across the country and has become encouragement to a many of homeless people as well as some well known musicians across the country. but because of level of his life. its only a slow moving roumor.this man as a homelessman himself inspite of his own circumstances goes out every sunday night with a local church 1.feeding the homeless 2.giving out clothing 3. help give emergancy food each fri at a emer.food pantry.3.most of all direct words of encouragement to the cries off the cities wilderness of homelessness to the streets in our nations capitol of washington d.c.. words of encouragement fighting to keep our crime rate down in not to allow their struggles to dictate wrongful activity to compensate their lack, struggles, or addictions he’s wittnessed. trying to use his fight to amazing unfair odds as a testamony. one of wich is to have been falsely accused by 2disloyal officers and gov.attorney both knew the man to be innocent just to try and force a testamony against another man not carring that it would cause the man to loose all family ties, job, home and to become a fugative not in just one state but of two. although this situation is now cleared and his innocense proven he is homeless.but as an example he shows the streets hope in not giving up on his goals as a now deciesed pastor’s son of becoming a gospel artest, songwritter, producer of a new style of gospel music to be introduced as “omega gospel praise!”that comes along with a new tottally diversed group “GOD’S RELIABLE SOURCES!” IT AMAZING HOW HE IS SOMETIMES ON TALK RADIO ON A SM.AM RADIO STATION AS A HOMELESSMAN GIVING OUT ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE STREETS OF HOMELESSNESS. BUT,a hero to musicians because how is i that a homelessman still is the leader of a praise band with all original songs as well as a new style. its a great story unto a GOD given glory please investagate by phone 2408985681

I love Mo’ Nique I think she is such a lovely young lady and couldn’t wait to see her show first night good next to good but she needs to tone it down a bit all that hollering is a turn off. Baby keep up the good work but please tone it down.

I thought Whoopi Goldberg was the first Black female to have a late night show??

LOVE YOUR SHOW**

I look forward to meeting you
on your show!!

Congrat’s to you Mrs. Mo’Nique, being the first black woman to have a late night show is awesome. You deserve it. Good luck in everything you do. Many will have negative things to say, and you know its what we people are known for, but learn from their negative words, by replacing them with knowlege, yes we can all learn something everyday. Have a bless day. Mamamore

Miss Mo’Nique, if you decide to give someone a chance to show the world what they have to offer, please stop by and listen to my two girls Mrs. Caren Green, and Miss. Tawain G. from New Orleans, LA they are R&B Singers, they could use your help with getting notice. Please go to http://www.myspace.com/carengrn and http://www.myspace.com/tawaing and let me know what you think of my girls who have been singing for a long time and just need a ANGLE like you to give them a chance. Mamamore signing out saying you go girl.

Monique looks good!!! with the weight loss but sorry, the show sucks!!! I think she needs to stay in the comedy/actress business, talk show not for her, boring great guest, but all she does is yell damn stop saying baby so much

Mo I just love your new show when its on I don’t no one to interupt it. Keep doing you thing. Big Ups To You!!!!

you should get Fankie and her kids on the show …BUT FOR AS THE SHOW I KNEW SHE COULD DO IT ….LOVE U GIRL KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. THAT WHAT I CALL A COACH MOVE COACH……..

How do I get tickets to “The Mo’Nique Show”?

I love the Mo’Nique show however I hate all the screaming that she does, I realize that she is excited that she has her talk show I am excited for her but please tone it down we don’t have to be preceived as always being loud.

Mo Will you please have Teena Marie on your show please

I saw the show and it was very embarassing. She is loud screaming making no sense. I think she look fabulous with her weight lost. But, I would not turn in anymore. The sjow is pure classless

Hi Monique,

I want to congratulate you but I’m more sad for you. Haven’t you grown from the streets of Baltimore. You can take a girl out of the hood but you can’t take the hood out of the girl. Who are you targeting. If I was a celebrity I wouldn’t feel priviledge to be on your show. So enhance your vocabulary and stop the SCREAMING !!!& BABY!!! and shucking. and jiving. PS you do look fabulous

I really love Mo’Nique. And I am glad that she has her on Talk Show….I just wish she stop yelling so much!

Dear Monique,
Its been roughly 18 years (when you were doing stand up- you invited me to check it out and you were the best) since i’ve seen you – congrats!!! You’ve been doing alot of big things i am so happy for you
I dont know another way to contact you but i figured i’d give this a shot. I know two amazing artists i think you might want to get to know or better yet hear. One is an internationally known artist the other is my son. Believe me they wont dissapoint. If we could speakto you i will jog your memory and you’ll remember both me and my son (like your son he’s a man now) Peace and love – Elsie.

Monique’s Show looks cheap and she is too loud. If she continues to scream as she does, she will not have a voice long.

Mo’Nique – WHAT A GREAT LATE NIGHT SHOW!
Keep on representing B’More.

What a great late night show! Keep representing B’more.

I just your show i will be very upset if i even miss five min of it………

I am ecstatic to see a Black woman hosting her own late night talk show, however Mo’Nique, please tone down the volume. You don’t have to scream so loudly to show your enthusiasm. Also, please stop overtalking your guests like poor Tiny & Toya. They couldn’t get a word in edgewise. I do love the Big Girl Dancers. I appreciate your show tastefully featuring this type of entertainment. Rock on with your bad self!

I love her show. Absolutely fabulous! I love the energy, the honesty and the warmth!!! Congratulations Mo’nique!

Is wendy williams a late night show? If so then wendy williams is the first black woman to have her own late night show.

I love you just as you are. Society always expect African American celebrities to use proper vernacular. Why do the normal standards increase when we become famous? “Monique” remain on the path that has been choosen for you.

I WATCH YOUR SHOW AND IT IS SO GOOD KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GIRL.

Hey Mo’Nique how are you? I’m going to get str8
to the point, and hope that you REALLY get to read this.
My ONLY niece whom is now 19 has an AMAZING voice.
Now i know you may hear that all the time and so forth
because alot of people do say that about their kin folks,
and it don’t always be TRUE but this BABY is “THE TRUTH’,
and if you give me an oppurtunity coming from a small
town down the street from memphis and around the
corner from nashville TN, to show and prove to
you and the WHOLE WIDE WORLD, and the judges at
APSU, the local college she currently attends, that
yes she should have won that talent show or at least
placed in it. She has won before and that is fine
but it is also considered fair, is it against the
rules that you can only when once or twice? Sorry
started having flashbacks. Talk about some good
azz talent dat can SANG, honey she can Do just h
that. Tickle me PANK (pink) BABY!

Monique my dearest, i am so proud of you. My name is jennifer i lives in New Jersey, I am a fashion designer and baby my hands are busy designing your clothes, i like the simple dresses that you wear but i feel like i can add a little some to them, but still keep them looking like you. any ways enough about your fine looking self. I use to model my clothes, i use to model swimwear, but at the moment i cant because of my weight. I have been suffering with high blood pressure since 2007 after falling down 16 steps in my apartment and just started gaining weight, i cannot explain all the health issues i have right now, what i can say is you motivates me to do some thing about my weight, i need help right now i am not going any farther with this weight. Thank you very much continue the good works, Love you and God bless you.
