“Everybody Hates Chris” deserves a Second Chance
Earlier this summer, The CW officially cancelled their black sitcoms, “Everybody Hates Chris” and “The Game.”
While “The Game” was sent into overtime by BET, “Everybody Hates Chris” was not as lucky. As the longest-running black sitcom and, arguably, the best, “Everybody Hates Chris” deserves a second chance.
The show introduced the world to Tyler James-Williams and we have watched him grow up right in front of our eyes. The show also brought the return of such former stars as Tichina Arnold, Jackee` Harry, and Todd Bridges.
Honestly, The CW should bring the show back out of a sense of loyalty. When The CW struggled to find an identity, shows like “Everybody Hates Chris” were the backbone of the network.
It is also the network’s longest-running series, dating back to the final UPN season. But, the chances of The CW renewing “Everybody Hates Chris” are impossible because The CW has completed its transition back into The WB.
“Everybody Hates Chris” brought something different to TV and was one of the best shows of the past two decades. It deserves a second chance.
