“The Mo’Nique Show” to premiere on October 5, 2009
Many have been anticipating the premiere of Mo’Nique’s late night talk show on BET. The series will aptly be titled, “The Mo’Nique Show” and it will join “The Wendy Williams Show” on BET’s late night schedule.
Mo’Nique will be joining Wanda Sykes and Wendy Williams as the only black people on late night television. Ironically, they are all women, too, setting even more television records.
Mo’Nique has been a groundbreaking entertainer for some time now. She made it the norm to be big and still be sexy. Despite that, she decided to lose weight for health purposes. Mo still considers herself to be a “big girl at heart.”
She was in the television light ever since 1998, when she began making guest appearances on “Moesha” as Nikki Parker. In 1999, the role of Nikki Parker moved to her own spin-off series, “The Parkers.”
“The Parkers” ended in 2004 and Mo’Nique moved on to a very successful career in film. She returned to the small screen in 2006 with “Mo’Nique’s Fat Chance” in 2006 and also was the host of “Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School.” After “Charm School” ended, she returned to the big screen.
Two years after her last appearance as a regular on a television series, Mo’Nique is back with her own show. The series is called “The Mo’Nique Show” and it will begin airing on BET on October 5, 2009. The series will air nightly at 11:00 pm.
