Back in 2007, Tyler Perry scored a box office hit with his film, Why Did I Get Married? The film centered around four couples that attended an annual couples’ retreat in the mountains. In the end, the film was successful.

No stranger to success, Perry is trying to duplicate it. Early this year, he announced that he was working on a sequel to the film. The title is set to be Why Did I Get Married Too? This time around, the same four couples will be on a retreat, this time they will meet in the Bahamas.

There has been some speculation about the film. The last one was a typical dramatic film, but there has been some buzz about the sequel being a thriller. Neither Perry, or any of the actors have confirmed this. All that is known is that the film will follow a similar format as the last one.

Why Did I Get Married Too? will hit theaters in April 2010. The trailer can be watched below:

No matter the person, everybody needs love. Everyone has their own method to try and find that right person. Some people attend a lot of parties. Others try couples’ retreats.

Ray J, on the other hand, feels that the best way for him to find love is for him to invite twenty women into his home for three months. Not only is he living like Hugh Heffner, but he is doing all of this on television.

This is not the first time that Ray J has taken to the television screens to find love. Last year, he decided that it was finally time for him to move on from Kim Kardashian. As a result, he went on TV with “For The Love of Ray J.” The show was quite a journey and he thought that he had found love in Cocktail.

In the end, those two were not compatitable for each other. Later, Ray J did state that the two were friends and that she was the best woman for him out of what he was given to work with. In short, Ray J asked the producers to give him more to work with.

Now, Ray J is back with a second season of “For The Love of Ray J.” This time, he is confident that he will find love.

The rap industry is a multi-million dollar corporation. A lot of credit is given to producers, record label executives, and managers, but the rappers have also accomplished a lot. Most of these rappers built their fortune by telling their story of crime and drugs.

Everyone has come to accept that most rappers have either sold drugs or they have used drugs. Some have done a combination of both. That is acceptable that they had no other way to make a living and that they needed something to cope with their rough lifestyles.

However, what is unacceptable is a rapper that does not leave this stuff alone once they make it. It is safe to say that Gucci Mane no longer lives the life that he raps about. There is probably nothing for him to escape that he cannot go to therapy for. Rappers try to act tough, but they know that they go to therapy.

Usually when rappers are sentenced to prison, the black community jumps behind them for support. Gucci Mane is expecting this to happen with him, but does he deserve support for a mistake that he made? Back in 2005, he was arrested for aggravated assault. He was placed on probation for his crime, under the terms of this probation, he has to follow the rules.

Everyone knows that marijuana and cocaine use is against the law. Why would a person with the status of Gucci Mane mess with it? Not only is he too rich to be messing with the stuff, he already has the law on his tail because of his criminal past. Why would he violate his probation by messing with drugs?

If this were a younger celebrity, it would be more understandable, but Gucci Mane is well over thirty-years-old. He is too old and too rich to be messing with drugs. Gucci Mane needs to begin acting his age, because everything that he was blessed with can easily be taken away.

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Redman was interested in doing a sequel for his 2001 film, How High. Mike Epps appeared in the first film playing the role of “Baby Powder.” Early in his career, Epps made a name for himself playing in comedic roles.

Now that the wheels are turning and another How High movie is in the works, many want to know if Mike Epps would return to his roots. Like many actors before him, Epps is trying to branch out from comedy and into doing regular films. Doing a role like “Baby Powder” can lead to Epps being typecasted.

For years, Mike Epps has been known as a comedy actor. Some have been trying to dub Epps as the next Chris Tucker. When SOHH asked Mike Epps about his participation in this new film, he said that he would not be taking part. He did not mean to offend Method Man, or Redman, it is just that he wants to move on to bigger things.

More than anything, Mike Epps wants to begin doing serious movie roles. Epps truly wants respect in the film industry. He said that he is getting to that point in his life where he wants to do more mature roles. Currently, there are not any new films that feature Mike Epps.

Coming into the 2009-2010 NBA season, the sports analysts could not get enough of the Cleveland Cavaliers. They traded for Shaquille O’Neal and pairing him with LeBron James is a sportscaster’s dream. Plus, the Orlando Magic traded for Vince Carter.

However, on opening night, the Miami Heat played the New York Knicks and the stellar play of Dwyane Wade led the Heat to a 22-point win. The Magic also recorded a win, but the Cavaliers lost. As Miami continued to rack up wins, the Cavaliers have been nothing but an average team, while the Magic have also been cooling off.

The Miami Heat are off to their best start in franchise history at 6-1. Meanwhile, such contenders as the Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Orlando Magic have worse records than the Heat. Doubters of Wade and the Heat love to remind people that this team has had an easy, EARLY, schedule.

What these people fail to realize is that only a few plays against the Suns would have them at 7-0. Plus, Miami is beating these easy teams by wide margins, as contenders would do. Among the Heat’s victories are wins against the Denver Nuggets, a Western Conference Finalist, and the Chicago Bulls, a playoff contender.

Just now, some people are beginning to think that this team is serious. Honestly, the Miami Heat are built for next season, but there is no harm in winning at any time. As the Cavaliers and Magic have struggled, some people are jumping ship for Wade and the Heat. Is this a mistake?

For the longest time, speaking of black films, meant speaking of Spike Lee. He was the one when it came to a black filmmaker. Then, all of a sudden Tyler Perry came. Unlike Spike, Perry was a bit more organized, owning the rights to all of his work. Lee was a freelance worker, so to speak, while Tyler Perry worked for Lionsgate.

Where Spike Lee limited himself to the big screen, Tyler Perry worked out a multi-million dollar deal with TBS that resulted in two Perry sitcoms on the network. Becuase of the success of his many films and his sitcoms, “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns,” Tyler Perry is one of the richest people in America.

It is safe to label Tyler Perry as the new and improved Spike Lee. Up in the Bronx, New York, there is a man working hard to become the new and improved Tyler Perry. For three years, Randy Jones has been hard at work trying to make a name for himself. He has been creating independent films for years.

Currently, he is working on his big screen debut, Black Power. He said that he is confident that this film will be a box office success. But, he has a lot of other things in the works aside from films, earlier this year, he premiered his sitcom, “Can Life Get Any Worse Than This?” That series was picked up by True Black Television.

The success of that series led to a partnership between TBT Entertainment Group (the same company that owns TBT: The Magazine) and Randy Jones’ entire company, Randy Jones Productions. Aside from his film production, Randy Jones also has his own clothing company, Randy Jones Clothing and his own magazine, JR Magazine. Under his deal with TBT, they own half of all of his business ventures.

While his profile is not as large as Tyler Perry’s, nor are his pockets, but he has accomplished just as much. He is a successful filmmaker and soon he will have two sitcoms on television. Plus, he owns his own magazine and clothing line. It is only a matter of time before all of his projects see some sort of success, which will lead to financial success.

Before long, Randy Jones’ pockets may be larger than Tyler Perry’s. Is Randy Jones the new and improved Tyler Perry?

It has become no secret that New York governor, David Paterson is in trouble. On a regular basis, his popularity is dropping. It is an alarming thing for the national Democratic Party, especially after the two major losses last week.

At the last minute, both of those Democratic candidates called upon President Obama for help. Not even his efforts could get these men into office. The residents of the states said that their going Republican had nothing to do with Obama. Now, New York is a heavily-Democratic state. If Paterson loses with Obama campaigning for him, Barack Obama is in deep trouble.

Earlier this year, Barack Obama urged David Paterson not to run in the 2010 election, so another Democrat could take office. Never a quitter, Paterson declined to back out. Now, he is in a position where all of the odds against him and he thinks that Barack Obama will attach his name and support to a failing effort.

Not long after David Paterson’s 2010 campaign for governor, Barack Obama will be facing Republican opposition for the role of president. If Obama loses with Paterson, it will start a trend. It is a long time between now and next November, things may change and President Obama may support David Paterson, but right now things are not looking good for him.

By now it is no secret that the black race is looked down at by virtually everyone. Things are getting better, as times are changing, but disturbing trends are still in action. This all leads to one vital question, why?

In every race, there is diversity. Every race has the good, the bad, and the ugly. Regardless of origin and skin color, every race has people that could do better than what they are doing. It is quite odd, though, that America tries to group all of black America into one category.

Middle-aged to old black people are always presented as these super-religious, Bible-toting people who always have advice. That would be nice if every middle aged and every old black person was like that, but a great number of people in that age group are running around with the young people, trying to live a life that is no longer there.

The young adults of black America are displayed as rude, arrogant, lazy, and disrespectful. In other words, they are accused of having bad attitudes and no jobs. Of course, there are a lot of young black people like that, but one would have to listen to Tom Joyner to hear about the young black people that run their own businesses, or the ones that are in college pursuing degrees.

For the longest time, athletes and rappers have been the only images shown in black America. If a young black child was lucky, he could become the next Jesse Jackson. But, what they do not realize is that behind these athletes are their managers and agents, getting healthy commissions and the people who own the record labels that the rappers make music for. One could aspire to work behind the scenes, creating a record label.

The media hardly ever tells the other side to their stories. Black media always says not to try and become the next Kobe Bryant or Lil Wayne. But, Kobe Bryant’s agent is probably worth more than he is and the president of Universal Records is surely worth more than Lil Wayne is. Black people are climbing the ladder and getting no attention for doing so. Kobe may not have a black agent and Universal may not have a black president, but give it time.

Before long, the next NBA star may have that black agent and at the rate that Lil Wayne is going, he may become the president of Universal Records.

Without a doubt, Thriller, was the best work that Michael Jackson ever created. There is no way that he could ever top that album on a creative level. But, commercially, he could have knocked the socks off of his 1982 album.

By 2001, nineteen years after Thriller, Michael Jackson was now looked at as an “old school” artist. It had been six years since his last album, so the younger generation knew nothing about him. Always a step ahead of the curve, Michael was ready to re-introduce himself to the game.

Coming into the late 1990s and 2001, when he released Invincible, black music was centered around hip hop. Because of that, Michael Jackson teamed up with many hip hop producers and featured upcoming rappers on the album. His 2001 release was easily his second-best album, better than Off The Wall.

Chris Tucker was probably the most popular comedian/actor after the success of Rush Hour 2. One notable scene from the film was Tucker re-enacting Michael Jackson’s trademark dance. After the film, Jackson called Tucker, saying two words “wrong leg.” What came next was a strong friendship. Tucker performed the intro of Invincible’s lead single, “You Rock My World.”

The song received little promotion from Sony, but still managed to become a top five single. For the album, Michael Jackson had big plans of releasing such songs as “Unbreakable,” featuring The Notorious B.I.G., “Break of Dawn,” “Whatever Happens,” and “Threatened” as singles.

All of those songs were great and deserved to be singles. “Unbreakable” was arguably the best song on the album. The video for that single would have been simply incredible. Although “Break of Dawn” was a slow song, the instrumental of the song also set the stage for a creative video featuring Jackson and some video honey.

Had the album received the necessary attention and Jackson’s label had pushed those singles, things would have been entirely different. “Whatever Happens” would have shot to number one on all of the charts. One could only imagine the type of dancing that Michael would have done in the video. “Threatened” would have turned the “new generation” into true hardcore MJ fans because the song was a 2000s version of “Thriller.”

Had Sony been thinking, they would have pushed “Threatened” as the next single, after “You Rock My World.” With no promotion, Invincible was able to go double platinum. On top of all of that, only one single received notable airplay. Imagine if Sony had pushed these singles, gave them proper videos, and promoted the album.

With the robust economy in 2001, the new generation of music fans, and the nostalgic Michael Jackson fans, the sales of Invincible would have easily trumped that of Thriller. Michael Jackson would have broken his own record and he may have been able to have performed that world tour that was set for this summer.

Maybe if Sony had done right by Michael Jackson with this album, he would have been at ease letting that album be “It.” Had that been the case, he would hold the record for the top two selling albums of all time. Michael would have finally broken his record, topping Thriller and he could have finally been satisfied. Had this happened, maybe America would not have received such sad news on June 25, 2009.

A rarity has happened, a black man has received a second chance. Promising running back, LeGarrette Blount, has been allowed to return to playing football for Oregon State. He had been suspended for the entire season after punching a member of Boise State.

Once it was revealed that Blount had been provoked, some began pushing for the reinstatement of LeGarrette Blount. That, alone makes him a lucky man. It is rare than anyone tries to defend an athlete who ends up in a fight. That is regardless of who started and who finished it.

All of that vouching for Blount led to Oregon State filing on his behalf. It took a week longer than expected. Some were wondering if the university was even going to file for Blount. A few fans of the team were hoping that they would take this opportunity to rid themselves of LeGarrette.

Things did not go the way that those people hoped because LeGarrette Blount has indeed been reinstated. He is expected to play against Arizona State, but with limited minutes. Still, interest in his stock has dropped significantly, but he does have a chance to show what he is made of one last time.
